The Martha’s Vineyard Museum is preparing to move from Edgartown to a new permanent home in Vineyard Haven. Opening in this new space in late 2018, it will include exhibitions that embrace stories of the Island’s people, places, and events. These stories will be drawn from the past and present. It will celebrate the history of this special place while embracing the vibrant, contemporary living landscape and communities on the Island today.
One way we want to do this is to share in the new exhibitions a diversity of voices to tell authentic stories that the public–that is you!–helps us generate. To do this, we need your help. Whether you are an Islander, a visitor, or a seasonal resident, if you have a story of what the Island means to you, please tell us!
We invite people of all ages and backgrounds to contribute their stories. This will aid us in the development of the exhibits that will create the visitor experience in the new museum location.
**exhibits are designed and planned by the MV Museum (mvmuseum.org) and Experience Design (www.expstudios.org). Both groups will work together to curate all content crowd-sourced by this website.
